National Anniversary of Fridtjof Nansen

Fridtjof Nansen was a great scientist, explorer and Nobel Peace Prize laureate. Today we celebrate the 150th anniversary of his birthday.

Norways Prime Minister and the King participates

Norways Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg and H.M. The King will speak, Vegard Ulvang and Stein P.Aasheim will talk about their upcoming trip to the South Pole. NRC and the Red Cross will talk about their work.

Madcon, Sissel and Thine Things Helseth will give their tributes to the Fridtjof Nansen.

The event is hosted by Peter Schjerven, Erik Solbakken, and Magnus and Signe from «Krem Nasjonal».

«Camp Nansen»

You will find «Camp Nansen» on the University Square throughout the day. Here you can meet organizations that relate to Nansen: The Nobel Peace Center, Red Cross, The Norwegian Refugee Council, Bellona, Plan Norge, Zero, The Norwegian Polar Institute, The National Library of Norway, Norwegian People's Aid Youth and several other organizations.

The event is free and open to all.
