Sing for the penguinsJørgen Amundsen and his crew are heading to Antarctica on an expedition to follow in the spirit of Roald Amundsen. The focus is on the coming 100 years challenges– the environment.. The penguin is the symbol of our efforts to raise awareness on these matters. On 16 December 16th they will be giving the penguins their very own concert. You can join the choir!
As we celebrate the 100 year anniversary, we would like to take this opportunity to shed light on the coming 100 years challenges – the environment. Together with the Red Cross and Friends of the Earth, we have initiated the campaign SING FOR THE PENGUINS. We encourage everyone to take a few seconds to give a tone to the penguins – thus becoming a member of a grand choir that will be played for the penguins in a concert on 16 December. Follow the expeditionThe expedition set sail from Ushuaia on 21 November, around Cape Horn – through the Drake Passage and on to the Antarctic Peninsula. This is the territory where Amundsen took part in the first Antarctic wintering in 1898-99. The first few days, the expedition will undertake some historic relevant excursions in Amundsen’s footsteps.
Around 5 December, we wil leave the boat and ski into the continent. This is the start of the expeditions main goal – to be the first to set foot on the top of a localized mountain on 14 december – exactly 100 years after Amundsen was the first to set foot on the South Pole.
Join the choirYou can participate by giving your tone to the penguins – thus becoming a member of a grand choir that will be played for the penguins in a concert on 16 December.
